Webb 1:30 - 4:00 PM ORIENTATION TO GCS Students coming in for the first time receive an overview of the vision and mission of GCS and the phases of life skills training available to them. Mon 9:30 - 10:30 C. Webb, E. Bernardes PERSONAL SURVIVAL SKILLS Using a discussion group format, the focus is on development of positive feelings of self-worth with a reduction in guilt and anxiety. Goal setting, reaching out to others, acknowledgement of growth and enhancement of communication skills are emphasized. Tue 9:30 – 10:30 AM G. Mambo Fri 9:30 – 10:30 AM Computer Literacy This class exposes individuals to a broad spectrum of uses and skills on the computer. The curriculum includes: Basic computer vocabulary, keyboarding, introduction to the internet, advanced internet, Gmail, job search, Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint Thurs 10:30-11:30/ By Appointment C. Porter RESUME WRITING/INTERVIEW COACHING Students do an inventory of their skills, personal strengths and knowledge, and then build a professional resume during the first meeting. At the second meeting, students learn the basics of successfully interviewing for jobs. Free resume typing services offered. 1x1 meetings by appointment. By Appointment R. Porter MONEY MANAGEMENT Learn how to manage your finances. This class introduces you to a budget, and how to save money! Other topics include: What it means to be a good money manager, how to prepare a budget, how to balance your accounts, how to cut back on expenses, ideas for increasing your income, how to save more, how to set financial goals Wed 9:30 - 10:30 AM S. Avirett GED PREPARATION GED Preparation tutoring is available for adults who want to challenge the GED examinations. By Appointment E. DeLeon HEALTHCARE FOR THE HOMELESS CLINIC Primary and preventive health clinic services provided by the Solano County Department of Health & Social Services (SCDHSS) toward the goal of 100% health care access for homeless individuals and families. Thurs 8:30 – 12:00 Noon SCDHSS HEALTH FOR SUCCESS CLINIC Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM) pre-clinical students provide health screening, referral, and coordination of care services for GCS clients. A TUCOM on-site clinician works closely with our case managers for referrals and coordination of care. Tue 3:00-5:00PM Dr. Foy/ Touro Students HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATION Health Education classes facilitated by Touro University MPH/MPA faculty or students. Clients learn various health risks and diseases and ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. TBA GCS Staff CLOTHES CLOSET/DRESS FOR SUCCESS/DMV Vouchers Provides clothing for men & women for employment interviews, for work and church. Thurs 10:00—11:45 AM GCS Volunteer PHASE 2: Targeted and individualized goal setting pertaining to employment, job retention and stability.
